Feri Tradition

Posts from www.FeriTradition.com

---Feri* is a modern tradition of Witchcraft derived from the teachings of Victor and Cora Anderson and passed through their various initiates. A rich and diverse spiritual art, Feri seeks to transform the individual through practices of ritual magic, meditation, and energy work. Feri draws power from various cultures and their magical systems, including Conjure; Huna; Voodoo; Tantra; Celtic Folklore; Christian Mysticism; Yezidi Mythology; Greek Gnosis; and others, as Feri continues to integrate the magic and mysteries of ancient and evolving cultures. Feri is understood and integrated through direct experience; adherents include dedicated practitioners and persons initiated ritually into its mysteries.

This site seeks to present a spectrum of Feri exercises, poetry and lore for the purposes of education, inspiration and practice.

*The diversity of our tradition can be seen in the various spellings of our name, which include Faery, Faerie, F(a)eri(e).

  • Free Online Feri Training

Do you want to learn about a somewhat different approach to Feri witchcraft? Here’s an online group for you, taught by Veedub (Valerie Walker), a Feri initiate since 1976. There is no fee, and the only things I ask of students is a weekly check-in and a sincere desire to learn. Lessons will be sent out to this group on the first of each month, and the class is divided into three sections. Section One is the basics, Section Two is for intermediate students, and Section Three is for advanced students. And before you ask, no, you can’t start in the middle, even if you have plenty of Feri lore under your belt. I want to build this group into a community; to this end I will be holding G+ hangouts twice a month, on the third Friday and Sunday of the month (so if you work weekends you can make the Friday sessions). So you will need an account on Google+, a camera and a microphone. You will also have to add Valerie Walker to your circles so i can add you back.

Several experienced Feri student practitioners and initiates from the previous class (the Cwazy Wabbits) will also be available as TA’s to answer questions and contribute their own views to discussions, so I can work up to but not past my energy level (still recovering from all that chemo, though almost back to what might be called “normal” if we weren’t speaking about me ;D).

Anyone who doesn’t check in for two weeks (and i will accept even a brief statement that you are still alive but really busy) will be dropped from the class, and there are no do-overs. Experience has taught me that lurkers really add nothing to a class and that if you can’t read and understand the lesson within a month you are way too busy to be here.

I don’t promise initiation, but if you go through the entire course and we both feel you are on track for it, you may become an individual student, and who knows where that may lead? Eventually I will manage to visit Brazil and will doubtless initiate a couple of long-time students there, so it is not outside the realm of possibility that there will be Feri initiates in Brazil. Plus I have had people come from Boston and Chicago to initiate, so distance is no longer a problem in the age of online hangouts and even remote rituals. It’s all in-person, and it’s all good.

Please contact me at v.weatherwax@gmail.com if you wish to join this class, which will begin in June.
